  • Mikelle

Mikelle Rappaport - Owner, Executive Director

Mikelle is the owner of Golden Lifestyle Partners. She has worked with seniors and their families for over 25+ years in a variety of capacities. Her personal experience as a caregiver for her late grandparents and now for her mother, who is living with dementia, along with her professional roles as a geriatric social worker and licensed nursing home administrator, have given her valuable insights from multiple perspectives within the long-term care industry.

Mikelle formed Golden Lifestyle Partners after years of helping many seniors and their families navigate through the admissions process while managing her own senior care communities. She quickly recognized that there is a great need for seniors and their family members to have an advocate take the time to walk alongside them through this journey. Not only can the search for a quality health care community be difficult, but the transition from home to a new and unfamiliar place can be quite overwhelming.

Mikelle received her undergraduate degree in Health and Human Services from Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Virginia. She began her career as a social worker in a local skilled nursing facility and later pursued a license in health care administration. Mikelle achieved her license as a nursing home administrator in 2005 and has managed both skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers as well as assisted living communities. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) with the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, and a Certified Placement and Referral Specialist (CPRS) with the National Placement and Referral Alliance. Mikelle has previously served as both chair and vice chair of the Virginia Beach Task Force on Aging. She co-founded Hampton Roads Professionals Reaching Out for Seniors (HR PROS), a diverse professional networking group focused on improving the lives of seniors in the Hampton Roads area. She is married and enjoys spending time with her family along with their sweet beagle mix, Schroeder, and Malinois mix, Indigo.
