Mikelle Rappaport is the owner and founder of Golden Lifestyle Partners. For over 20 years, she has dedicated her career to working with seniors and their families in a variety of capacities from geriatric social worker to an administrator for some of Hampton Roads premier long-term care communities.
For her, it’s personal.
Mikelle discovered her lifelong passion for the elderly as a teenager when she served as a caregiver for her own grandparents of blessed memory, who both lived with dementia. After assisting her family through this difficult time, Mikelle entered college to pursue a career helping others.
Experience is key.
During her career in the long-term care industry, Mikelle has gained experience from the bottom up and saw firsthand the need for seniors and their families to have an advocate who will help them navigate the sometimes difficult and confusing process. She formed Golden Lifestyle Partners to do just that.
Mikelle received her undergraduate degree in Health and Human Services from Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Virginia. She began her career as a social worker in a local-skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility and later pursued a license in nursing home administration. Mikelle previously served as both chair and vice chair of the Virginia Beach Task Force on Aging.
Mikelle has been a licensed nursing home administrator (LNHA) since 2005 and has managed both skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers as well as assisted living communities. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) with the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, and a Certified Placement and Referral Specialist (CPRS) with the National Placement and Referral Alliance.
She is married and resides in Chesapeake, Virginia with her husband, Bill, along with her son and two cats.

National Placement and Referral Alliance (NPRA) is a national membership organization formed to protect family choice for older adults. They provide members education and promote best industry practices to pursue ethical and professional responsibility in the communities their members serve.
The CPRS certification is awarded only to individuals who meet the eligibility requirements for the certification and then demonstrate that they meet or exceed the established level of professional competence by passing the certification examination.
